Dr Aifric Martin is an Ophthalmologist specialising in comprehensive anterior segment surgery, including cataract surgery and complex ocular procedures. With over a decade of experience spanning multiple healthcare systems globally, Dr Martin brings a wealth of clinical expertise and a patient-centred approach to eye care.

Dr Martin graduated with honours in Medicine from University College Dublin and was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) for her research exploring innovations in cataract surgery. She holds membership in the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (MRCOphth) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO).

Dr Martin completed her accredited ophthalmology training at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin and later pursued further advanced training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital  in Melbourne. During her fellowships in cataract and corneal surgery, she honed her skills in managing complex cataract cases, iridodialysis repairs, and keratoplasties. Dr Martin is actively involved in research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications focusing on advancements in cataract and laser surgery.

A passionate educator, Dr Martin has contributed to training resident doctors in Ireland and Australia. She is also a recipient of multiple scholarships and grants, including the RANZCO Indigenous and Remote Ophthalmology Scholarship, reflecting her commitment to improving access to quality eye care in underserved regions.
